Welcome to Daffest.com

Our Mission

Daffest is Saranac Lake's newest community event. And like Winter Carnival, First Night and the Art Walks, just to name a few-it depends on Saranac Lakers coming together and helping out.

And, just as a daffodil hibernates and blooms to full beauty each spring, Saranac Lake will bloom, as it does in the other seasons of the year, to its full majesty of community participation and pride in May 2011.

Now is the time to start planning the massive September planting that will give us the May Daffest. We need everyone's help in this community wide venture as, this fall, we will plant one MILLION bulbs throughout Saranac Lake, that will explode in community-wide splendor in Spring.

The vision, held by local residents and businesses, will make Saranac Lake a beautiful showcase for the many visitors who will come to appreciate our village and our festival effort.

Daffest launched May 2010. We invite you to share and track this vision and enthusiasm on-line at Daffest.com. The website will also give you sponsorship and donation opportunities, advertising potentials along with the many ways in which you can participate as a proud citizen. There will also be information about bulk bulb purchases and planting techniques.

It all starts with just one "light bulb" idea and one bulb planted in September 2010.

Please join us, the Mayor's Office, The Women's Civic Chamber and the many committed Saranac Lakers will love to hear your ideas. Join your neighbors in this newest community-wide festival as it takes root and blooms into another "got-to-be-there-in-Saranac Lake" time of year; the May Daffest!
